What is "Doylean Holmes"?

You can take many approaches when writing a Sherlock Holmes pastiche today. None are wrong but there are more traditional paths than others. I define "Doylean Holmes" as adopting a style as close to that of Sir Arthur as possible. This means I remain Victorian in setting and I use a similar narrative structure to the great man.

It also means that I don't deal in themes that Sir Arthur himself would not have touched. There are no supernatural elements and some of the more gruesome crimes that are a common feature of today's crime books are not touched.

You can pick up my books confident that they are walking a path in line with the Canon.

Are you going to write more volumes?

Eventually, yes. It is quite the task to write a book a year and I don't want quality to be sacrificed through haste. Now that I have two volumes out, I will slow down and take my time. This will also allow me to pursue other ideas as well.
